Ok, so obviously you all must know, that actually vegetarians and vegans are not ACTUALLY evil. But just in case some of you still do, I want to basically prove that they're not..
I myself am a vegan, so I can safely say that, I'm one of the best sources for information regarding the behaviour of vegans. First of all, your website states "Have you noticed, that vegans and vegetarians are always hungry? Have you also noticed, that they are always in a perpetual state of indignation and anger?". You can ask any of my friends or family, and they will all say that I eat a normal amount, and I'm rarely hungry cause I just love to eat. Not just eating lettuce, but I constantly search for a balanced, protein rich meal, and when I'm not doing that I'm eating crisps or sweets. I actually miss out on a surprising small amount of food. I'm a perfectly healthy weight. My iron levels in my blood are at a normal level and I find I have the same energy levels as when I used to eat meat, if not more. Oh, and although I'm 18 now, I've been vegan since the age of 16, and I don't feel that my growth since then has been stunted, in fact I am slightly above average height (but that has nothing to do with my diet - it's genes). Nothing has changed. And as for the aggressive side, yes, I can get angry, as everyone can, and it seems that this site is full of angry meat-eaters, but I wouldn't say that it is BECAUSE you eat meat that you are angry.
As for the "vegan moral crusade". Yes, my reasons for being vegan are to do with ethics. But I never bring up the fact that I am vegan when I'm with people (as I see it as irrelevant, it is not WHO I am, it is merely do to with my food - who cares?) instead, I am bombarded with questions "Why are you vegan?" "What can you eat?" "What the hell are you doing that for" "Haha look at this piece of ham! Does it offend you?". Of course, when I am asked these questions, I am going to tell the truth, I believe that a vegan diet is more ethical. But I DO NOT believe I am more ethical than anyone else, it just comes across that way when people ask us.
"They are ill prepared to compromise with their new age religion and so seek to find other like minded individuals with whom they hope to bond. Other cults, such as the "Moonies" and even the Nazis practiced this. " I cannot BELIEVE that this site compares us to Nazis! And I also do not like veganism being referred to as a religion. It is JUST FOOD! It is not a religion, merely a DIET. I am a Christian, and comparing not eating a piece of chicken to my faith is quite simply offensive. Not all vegans want to find other vegans to date, I am with a meat eater, and it really does not bother me one bit, after all why should I care what he eats?
"Singer stated that "mutually satisfying activities" of a sexual nature may sometimes occur between humans and animals" I love my cat, but let's be honest, I don't wanna have sex with him. It's actually funny that this argument is used.. It's clearly NOT true. Do you say that all car-lovers have sex with their cars? And all music lovers have a bit of fun with their trumpets? Yeah.. thought not.
And I can't find it now, but I saw an article about how vegans are pale, have smelly feet and are weird looking? I am sometimes pale, because I am white British, but I have meat eater friends who are a lot paler-looking. If you walk into any British high street store, you will find that around 70% of the shoes on sale are NOT leather. And my feet are perfectly normal, my dad, on the other hand, is always buying foot deodorant (and he wears leather shoes). I'm not a goth, or a member of a cult, nor do I wear hemp skirts and eat granola bars 24/7. I am a normal 18 year old girl who wears normal clothes, the only difference if I choose not to eat animals or animal products.
Ok that is all I'm going to argue now. I hope that you can read this and get a little hint that despite the fact that SOME vegans/vegetarians MAY be like the description on this site, most of us, including me, are NOT.
But if one person can give me a valid reason as to why my diet affects THEM personally, then they deserve a medal.
