Religious cult members often seek other members of the
same cult for dating and mating. The same is true with vegans
and vegetarians. They are ill prepared to compromise with
their new age religion and so seek to find other like minded
individuals with whom they hope to bond.
Other cults, such as the "Moonies" and even the Nazis
practiced this. This is also common in many mainstream
religious minority communities and especially among religious
zealots of all stripes.
 There are now a
number of online dating sites catering to vegans and
vegetarians. Some of the folks on them will proclaim fairly
militant viewpoints.
One of our personal favorites was the comment of a heavily
pierced and tattooed young lady who proudly proclaimed, "I
like animals even better than I like people."
Try bringing that home to mother.
There are people who really love animals - even to the point
of having sex with them. Peter Singer, the father of all
animal-rights activists himself proclaimed as much.
Singer stated that "mutually satisfying activities" of a
sexual nature may sometimes occur between humans and animals
and that writer Otto Soyka would condone such activities.
Singer states that Dekkers believes that zoophilia should
remain illegal if it involves what he sees as "cruelty", but
otherwise is no cause for shock or horror.
So go ahead, find yourself a nice vegan girl. But be warned:
when she's not stunting the growth of your children with her
dietary folly, she might be nailing Fido while you're at work.
